Designing the KVM solution that meets your requirements

When exploring KVM technology, it is important to plan for the future. KVM switching systems are flexible and scalable, so they can grow with your organization — but you need to know what to plan for.

What accessories do you need for your switch? What features would you like, not just for today, but for months and years to come? The last thing you need are separate components that aren’t compatible or systems that can’t be extended. Finally, never underestimate tech support. Having someone to turn to 24/7 before and after your purchase is key, and so is having the engineers testing compatibility and qualifying components to make sure they all play well together!

We design, install and test your custom KVM Solution as part of our service. For more information on custom KVM solutions, please contact our Tech Support or request a free consultation with one of our engineers.

  • How many CPUs do you currently have? Do you expect this number to increase in the future?
  • What keyboard/mouse connections do your CPUs have? PS/2, USB or both?
  • Which video interfaces would you like to use? DisplayPort, digital (DVI-D or DVI-I) or analogue (VGA) video?
  • What are your video resolution requirements?
KVM solution
  • How many users will be using the KVM solution in the current situation? And in the future?
  • How many users will be using this solution simultaneously?
  • What level of access control and security is required?
  • How important is the switching time?
KVM solution including extension
  • What is the distance between the user, the switch and the various CPUs?
  • How is your current data network set up - i.e. type of cables, number of switches?
  • Are there any environmental factors that need to be taken into account, such as radio frequencies or hazardous areas?
