DSL aggregation from Black Box: maximum DSL with minimum effort

Complete Layer II switch MaximiniLink for DSL line aggregation

Hallbergmoos, August 18, 2010 – With the new MaximiniLink from Black Box, the IT and telecommunications specialist, users can now easily and comfortably aggregate their DSL lines. The chassis is equipped with 10 network ports and slots for xDSL cards, up to 20 two-wire lines are thus possible. And with the modules directly connected to the backplane, no additional switch is required.

The complete Layer II switch supports all major protocols and functions, such as VLAN, QoS, STP/RSTP, SNMP and 802.3ad. It requires 2U in a 19“ rack and can be operated at temperatures from -20 to 70 degrees celsius. Combined with a direct DC supply, this also allows operation at remote branches. Moreover, by using the SFP slots available, the MaximiniLink can be connected to an existing corporate backbone via optical fiber.

“The new MaximiniLink can seamlessly be used with our last mile DSL modems Etherlink II and Etherlink IV“, Michael Wüst, European Networking Product Manager of Black Box Deutschland GmbH, explains. “It allows businesses to set up a Metro Ethernet Network (MEN) fast and comfortably, and enjoy the benefit of high efficiency at comparatively low complexity.“
